When it comes to athletic performance and overall fitness, nutrition is just as important as training. What you eat, how much you eat and when you eat are essential elements to getting the most from your training and to meeting your goals.
WHAT YOU EAT
You may be a healthy eater, but are you eating the right kinds of foods to fuel your training and recover for the next training session? Athletes need to know the best sources of carbohydrates, protein and fat and the best ratios if they want to train hard and see improvement without injury or illness.
HOW MUCH YOU EAT
Every athlete is different in terms of their nutritional needs. Your body weight, training schedule, lifestyle training intensity, athletic specialty and performance/fitness goals will dictate how much you need. to eat.
WHEN YOU EAT
The timing of nutrition is critical. Simply put, you want to wrap you nutritional plan around your workouts. You have to be properly fueled before a workout and feed your system throughout to get the most from your body. To perform at your best, you need the right foods at the right time to keep energy levels high and avoid the risk of dehydration and injury. Without the correct timing of your nutrition, you will not recover properly and will limit your progress.

You've
given me a lot of great advice of the years, but the best advice, by
far, has been around nutrition. I used to think that the less I ate
the more fit I'd be. I was so wrong! I eat more now - the right food
at the right time - and my body is stronger and healthier than it's
ever been."
